Rudy, the man who built a Cardboard Empire
In the world of Magic: The Gathering, few figures are as recognizable, or as debated, as Rudy from Alpha Investment. Investor, collector, and longtime content creator, Rudy has built what is widely considered one of the largest sealed Magic collections on the planet.
Unlike traditional collectors who focus on individual rare cards, Rudy’s strength lies in sealed product: booster boxes, vintage packs, and out-of-print sets stacked by the thousands. From early-era releases to modern limited runs, his warehouse resembles a living archive of Magic’s print history.
Over the years, Rudy systematically transformed sealed Magic into a scalable asset:
- Walls of vintage booster boxes
- Pallets of modern limited products
- Entire rooms dedicated to specific eras
What started as collecting became logistics, inventory management, and long-term preservation.

Indeed, Rudy didn’t just bet on Magic —
he built the infrastructure of a sealed-product empire.
What’s the difference with Chinese: The Gathering Project ?
In fact, our collection philosophy is the exact opposite of Rudy’s:
- Focus on extreme rarity, not volume
- Emphasis on older, historically significant printings
- Preference for opened, documented, culturally unique cards
- Hunting what the market once ignored — not what it mass-produced
Where Rudy preserves quantity of sealed history,
We preserve the rarest fragments of Magic’s global print culture.
