Misprints and errors

Magic cards printed in Chinese are famous not only for their rarity, but also for an unusually high number of printing mistakes.

These errors are not random one-time factory accidents. All of them appear on every copy of the card in that language, making them true historical misprints.

This article organizes the main Chinese famous misprints from late 90’s and early 2000’s by set, to help collectors understand what exists and why these cards are so special.

Final thoughts

Chinese Magic cards represent a hidden chapter of Magic’s printing history.

While most collectors focus on early English sets, the Chinese editions contain:

  • Some of the wildest misprints ever made,
  • Entire print runs with permanent errors,
  • True collector-grade anomalies.

For serious Magic historians and high-end collectors, these cards are not curiosities,
they are some of the rarest production mistakes in the game’s history.
